Not the best of weekends for Young Rhys Stoneman and his driver Johnnie Mackay ,after there bif off on Saturday during the final stage, both lads are ok ,just some soreness and some bruising .Hope youre both on the mend lads and hope to see you back out in the near future. This report was taken off Rhys's RS RALLYING Facebook page after the event. Quick update from Galloway Hills Rally today. Started at 72. Going very well with Johnnie really starting the morning with the bit between his teeth. Ss1 was a great stage for us putting us in 56th. Ss2 there were a number of cars off the road which slowed us down losing a bit of time. SS3 & 4 were awesome fast stages where we were able to climb to 42nd and 3rd in class. Unfortunately we weren't as lucky on SS5, approximately a mile from the end we clipped a rock on the inside of a right hander which flipped us over causing to roll 3 or 4 times down the middle of the stage. With the help of the spectators we managed to get back onto 4 wheels but that was it for us. With myself and Johnnie feeling a little shaken up and the car looking a bit worse for wear we had no option but to call it a day. Once the dust had settled I started to feel a little pain so the medical rescue team were called where I was assessed and then transferred to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for further assessment. Myself and Johnnie would like to thank the marshalls, radio car and of course the medical rescue teams and doctor for their quick response and professionalism. Following x-rays and tests and tests I was released from hospital a short while ago. Thank you to the doctors and nurses in Dumfries Hospital and the ambulance crew. Now for the long journey home. Thanks to Johnnie Mackay for another great rally and having me in the seat. I look forward to the next one.
